Eddie V's Prime Seafood

Overview

Walking into Eddie V's Prime Seafood feels like stepping into a polished yet welcoming spot where the lights are low, the bar hums with conversation, and the menu reads like a love letter to the ocean and the grill. The Tampa location at 4400 W Boy Scout Blvd, Tampa, FL 33607, United States sits conveniently close to major hotels and shopping, which makes it a popular choice for business dinners and relaxed celebrations alike. I’ve eaten here more than once after long workdays, and the consistency is what keeps pulling me back.

The first thing that stands out is the attention to detail. Servers explain the menu with confidence, from how the seafood is sourced to the exact temperature they recommend for each cut of steak. On one visit, our server walked us through the nightly oyster selection, noting flavor profiles and harvest locations. That level of knowledge mirrors what organizations like the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch advocate for-transparency and sustainability in seafood choices-which builds trust before the first bite even lands.

The menu balances fresh seafood with prime steaks in a way that feels intentional rather than crowded. The Chilean sea bass, for example, is served with a light miso glaze that enhances the fish without masking its natural richness. I once ordered it alongside a friend who chose the bone-in filet, and we both noticed how carefully timed the dishes were. Everything arrived hot, rested properly, and plated with restraint. According to USDA cooking guidelines, resting meat before serving helps retain juices, and Eddie V’s execution reflects that kind of professional kitchen discipline.

Another standout is the raw bar. The jumbo shrimp cocktail and seasonal oysters are handled with precision, kept icy cold and paired with house-made sauces that lean bright instead of overpowering. During a busy Friday night, I watched the raw bar team move with quiet efficiency, which says a lot about training and process. In hospitality research published by Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, streamlined kitchen workflows are linked to higher guest satisfaction, and this place is a living example of that principle.

The atmosphere plays a big role in the overall experience. Live jazz near the lounge adds energy without disrupting table conversation. I’ve sat at the bar during happy hour, sampling seafood appetizers while listening to a trio play softly in the background, and it struck a perfect balance between upscale and approachable. It’s the kind of setting where exceptional service without pretension feels genuine, not scripted.

Reviews across major dining platforms often highlight consistency, and that matches my experience. Even on packed nights, the pacing never feels rushed. Management presence is visible, which aligns with best practices recommended by the National Restaurant Association for maintaining service quality. That said, this is not a casual quick-stop; prices reflect the quality of ingredients and service. If there’s a limitation, it’s that this is a place best enjoyed when you have time to linger.

Desserts and cocktails deserve their own mention. The handcrafted drinks rely on classic techniques, proper ice, and balanced spirits, while desserts like the warm butter cake are rich without tipping into excess. Each visit has reinforced the feeling that this restaurant knows exactly who it is and executes accordingly.

From menu design to sourcing ethics and front-of-house professionalism, every element works together. It’s clear that experience, training, and respect for ingredients guide daily operations here, and for anyone exploring refined dining options in Tampa, this location continues to set a reliable standard that earns its reputation visit after visit.

Visited for Thanksgiving and could not have been more satisfied! From the moment stepping out of the car for complimentary valet service to the moment leaving! It was an exceptional dining experience! Definitely recommend having reservations for any holiday or special event as they were very busy but not overly crowded. It was perfect. They even had a life band playing the piano, drums & guitar. It was perfect! The music, food, atmosphere, service, drinks, temperature in the restaraunt, staff….everything was perfect. I can’t wait to go back.

This place is absolutely amazing. I went on Halloween 2025 as an early treat birthday outing dinner/date night with my beautiful wife. Our server "Shelby" was also just as amazing as the food. Pricey but worth it. We had 2 10 Oz Center Cut Filet Mignon And 5oz Roasted South African Lobster Beurre Blanc, Truffled Macaroni And Cheese and ahi tuna on crispy rice. The ponzu sauce was amazing and a nice change from typical soy sauce. The butter sauce for the lobster was good on everything. The bread and salted chive butter was also absolutely amazing.

We had an amazing experience thanks to our waiter, Nick. He was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, and he went above and beyond to make our anniversary feel truly special. Our steak, loster, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were delicious. Drinks made to perfection. This ontop of Nick's service elevated our evening. Highly recommend this location to celebrate any special occasion!

My wife and I came here on a whim for the first time. We have always been Flemmings fans but Eddie V's has taken first place by far now. The entire meal was fantastic, nothing I wouldn't order again. Best crabcake we have ever had. Their happy hour deal is a steal, now Sunday through Saturday. Had the Miso Salmon and the bone in Ribeye.. they say they're a seafood restaurant but that steak was top 2 in my book for Tampa and Bern's is not the other. Would highly recommend going here for any occasion.

It has been so long that I have visited Eddie V’s so decided to hopefully go have good dinner. First off, they have free valet! Second, the hostesses were very nice! Their menu selection has a lot of selection! Our server Jesus was fantastic and was very knowledgeable. For appetizers, we ordered the Wagyu dumpling and calamari. The dumplings was very good but the calamari was ok. For entree, I ordered the NY steak and the 8 Oz South African lobster. I wish they served rib eye steak but I was fine with the New York. The lobster tail was so sweet and tender. Each bite was just delicious. Now the steak was cooked to perfectly to my temperature but I think it was a little bit over seared but was still delicious. Overall, I think this is one of the better places to come received great service, elegant atmosphere and great food. I will definitely come back again!

JAKE headed a team of excellent servers who attended us with impeccable attention details. We savored a rich lobster bisque with cognac, lobster tacos that meritex repeating, a truly table side made tártare with our suggestion for a serving of wasabi. We also tried oysters served on ice, blue moon beer, and martinis. The warm bread is delicious and we asked for more. The BLT wedge salad is topped with crisp bacon and a great blue cheese dressing. Great food. We danced to the quartet for 3 hours on the small but great dance floor to the tunes and vocals of OFF THE CUFF who played standards and requests Excellent upscale quality food. Excellent service. Great valet. Awesome entertainment. Accessible entry. Fairly accessible venue. Some areas are well lit and many areas inc restrooms are dimly lit Menus are light color with dark letters and fairly readable.

Absolutely scrumptious!! The Shellfish Tower was super fresh. I ordered the Jumbo Gulf Shrimp. The crab meat was a nice combination and it was buttery. The Crab Fried Rice was delicious. It was buttery and the rice was cooked to perfection and the crab melted in my mouth. I also got to try the Truffled Macaroni and Cheese. The melty cheese and crispy breading was an explosion of textures. Finally dessert I ate the bananas foster butter cake. It was DELICIOUS!! The fire was awesome presentation and it caramelized the dessert. I had a warm cake with ice cream with was amazing. The crumble on the bottom gave it nice texture that just melted in my mouth. The cake was so soft. It was just amazing. I loved it!
